Albus L2B(Look-to-Book) Management Suite: AI-Powered Route Intelligence for Smarter NDC Operations

Managing Look-to-Book (L2B) ratios is one of the most critical—and most challenging—aspects of NDC operations. Airlines enforce strict L2B thresholds, and exceeding them can lead to penalties, restricted access, or even suspension of API privileges. Yet for many travel sellers, monitoring L2B across multiple airlines and sales channels has remained a manual, reactive, and time-consuming process. What if your system could not only alert you before a threshold is breached, but also tell you exactly which routes to control and predict the impact before you act?

We’re excited to introduce L2B(Look-to-Book) Management Suite—a comprehensive set of AI-powered features within Albus that transforms L2B management from reactive firefighting into proactive, data-driven optimization.

The L2B Challenge in NDC Distribution

In NDC-based distribution, every search (Look) that doesn’t result in a booking (Book) counts against your L2B ratio. As travel sellers aggregate content from multiple airlines through platforms like HaloSync, the volume of API calls grows exponentially—and so does the risk of exceeding airline-imposed L2B limits.

Traditional approaches to L2B management are fundamentally limited:

  • Delayed Detection: By the time you notice a spike, the damage is already done.
  • No Actionable Guidance: Knowing your L2B is high doesn’t tell you which routes or channels are the problem.
  • Guesswork in Route Blocking: Blocking routes without data risks killing profitable traffic alongside the wasteful searches.

The Evolution of Albus

Since its initial launch in August 2025, Albus has steadily evolved as the intelligent back-office of the HaloSync platform:

  • Aug 2025 — Laid the foundation with account management, shopping console controls, airline profile configuration, and core monitoring dashboards for search, booking, and L2B statistics.
  • Nov 2025 — Introduced Sales Branch Management for standardized channel identification and granular Airline Timeout Settings per sales channel—giving operators finer control over API performance.
  • Feb 2026 — Delivers L2B(Look-to-Book) Management Suite, the most significant update yet—bringing AI-powered intelligence directly into the operational workflow.

Introducing the L2B(Look-to-Book) Management Suite

The L2B(Look-to-Book) Management Suite introduces a closed-loop intelligence cycle built directly into Albus, combining automated monitoring, AI-generated analysis, and one-click route control across four tightly integrated capabilities.

1. Automated L2B Limit & Alert System

Define L2B limits for each airline with up to five alert levels. Choose your monitoring frequency—Daily, Weekly, or Monthly—and configure notification recipients by role.

  • Smart Status Indicators: Each airline displays a real-time L2B status—OK, Warning, Exceeded, or Severe—so you always know where you stand at a glance.
  • Automated Alerts: When a threshold is breached, targeted email notifications are sent at the next monitoring checkpoint (04:00 UTC) with direct links to your dashboard.
  • Contractual Reference: View your airline’s contractual L2B call limits alongside your custom thresholds for informed configuration.

2. AI-Powered Insight Reports

This is where the L2B(Look-to-Book) Management Suite truly sets itself apart. Powered by RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) technology, the system analyzes your account’s operational data and generates actionable intelligence reports on demand.

L2B Strategy Report identifies the root causes and recommends action:

  • Underperforming routes dragging your L2B ratio down, broken out by sales channel
  • High-traffic, low-conversion patterns across your route network
  • Specific route blocking recommendations with clear rationale
  • Impact simulation—predicted improvements in L2B ratio, estimated reduction in Look/Book API calls, and potential revenue trade-offs

“L2B(Look-to-Book) Management Suite doesn’t just tell you there’s a problem. It tells you exactly what to do about it—and what will happen when you do.”

L2B Result Report closes the feedback loop after route controls have been applied:

  • Before-and-after comparison of L2B metrics and revenue between the control period and a matched baseline period
  • Validation of whether the predicted improvements materialized
  • Mid-term progress reports for long-running controls (14+ days), so you don’t have to wait until expiration to see results

3. Granular Airline Route Control

Insight reports don’t just advise—they enable immediate action. Directly from the Strategy report, you can:

  • Review recommended routes to block, organized by airline and sales channel
  • Set control periods for each route—individually or in bulk
  • Create Route Controls with a single click, without navigating away from the report
  • Track the status of each control in real time: Scheduled, Ongoing, or Expired

Routes can be controlled at the region, country, city, or airport level, with up to 10 route entries per control setting. Active controls can be ended early if needed, and expired controls automatically trigger final impact analysis reports with optional email notifications.

4. Enhanced L2B Dashboard Widgets

Two new dashboard widgets keep L2B intelligence front and center:

  • L2B Alert Widget: When an alert email lands you on the dashboard, you’ll see the specific airlines and monitoring period that triggered it—with a direct path to request a Strategy report. The alert persists across page navigation so you won’t lose context.
  • L2B(Look-to-Book) Management Suite Widget: An interactive daily trend chart showing L2B ratios for your selected airlines. Add or remove airlines from your analysis target directly from the dashboard, and request Strategy reports without leaving the page.

The Complete L2B Management Cycle

The L2B(Look-to-Book) Management Suite connects every step into a seamless, closed-loop workflow:

  1. Configure L2B limits and alert thresholds per airline
  2. Detect issues early through automated monitoring and email alerts
  3. Analyze root causes with AI-generated Strategy reports
  4. Act on recommendations by creating Route Controls in one click
  5. Measure results with automated Result reports that compare predictions to reality
  6. Optimize continuously as each cycle refines your strategy

This closed-loop approach means your L2B management gets smarter over time—not just reacting to problems, but anticipating and preventing them.

Why It Matters

For travel sellers operating on the HaloSync platform, the L2B(Look-to-Book) Management Suite delivers tangible business value:

  • Protect Airline Relationships: Stay within contractual L2B limits and avoid penalties or API restrictions.
  • Reduce Wasted API Traffic: Filter out low-converting searches that inflate costs without generating revenue.
  • Make Confident Decisions: Move from gut-feel route blocking to data-backed strategies with predicted outcomes.
  • Save Operational Time: What previously required hours of manual analysis is now generated automatically in minutes.

Available Now

L2B(Look-to-Book) Management Suite is now live and available to all HaloSync platform customers. Whether you manage a handful of airlines or dozens across multiple sales channels, L2B(Look-to-Book) Management Suite gives you the intelligence to operate efficiently and profitably in the NDC era.
